Division of Tourism
The Missouri Division of Tourism is the administrative arm of the Missouri Tourism Commission, and it advocates for the sound development of the travel and tourism industry in Missouri. Created by the 74th General Assembly in 1967, the Division of Tourism’s mission is to promote Missouri as a top-of-mind travel destination and to boost state revenue through increased visitor spending.

Office of the Public Counsel
The Office of Public Counsel represents the interests of the public and utility customers in proceedings before the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) and in appeals in the courts. The PSC regulates the rates and services of investor-owned electric, natural gas, telephone, water, sewer and steam heat utilities. The Office of the Public Counsel is independent from the PSC and has a separate budget and staff.

Public Service Commission
The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The Commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the Governor.

Missouri Arts Council
Missouri Arts Council, a state agency and division of the Department of Economic Development, provides grants to nonprofit organizations to encourage and stimulate the growth, development, and appreciation of the arts in Missouri. For over 40 years, MAC has provided vital support and leadership to bring the arts to all the people of the state.

Missouri Housing Development Commission
The Missouri Housing Development Commission, created by the 75th General Assembly, is an instrumentality of the state of Missouri, which constitutes a body corporate and politic. MHDC has invested almost $4 billion to construct, renovate and preserve affordable housing. MHDC functions as a bank, providing financing directly to developers of affordable rental properties. The commission also provides funding for home loans to qualified, first-time buyers through a network of certified, private mortgage lenders. Mortgage financing is provided through the sale of tax-exempt notes and bonds that the commission is authorized to issue.

Missouri Development Finance Board
Assists infrastructure and economic development projects in Missouri by providing the critical component of the total financing for projects that have a high probability of success, but are not feasible without the Board's assistance.

Division of Energy
The Division of Energy assists, educates, and encourages Missourians to advance the efficient use of diverse energy resources to provide for a healthier environment and to achieve greater energy security for future generations.

Division of Workforce Development
The Division provides services for businesses and job seekers through the Missouri Career Centers and jobs.mo.gov. The Division works with a number of strategic partners to "skill-up" Missouri's workforce for today's business and industry needs. A wealth of information and resources about workforce services can be found on jobs.mo.gov.

Missouri Women's Council
The Missouri Women's Council serves as a resource and referral center to help encourage, educate and support Missouri women as they pursue their economic goals. It is a portal designed to connect women to a network of accessible, high quality advisory services and information ranging from employment and training, to information on starting your own business to how to balance work and family. Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission
The Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission’s purpose is to design and implement measures intended to protect, retain, and enhance the present and future mission capabilities at the military posts or bases within the state. The eleven-member commission consists of two members of the Missouri Senate, two members of the Missouri House of Representatives and five members appointed by the governor. The chairman of the Missouri Veterans’ Commission or designee and the director of the Department of Economic Development or designee serve ex officio.

Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board
SBRFB ensures that Missouri state agency rules and regulations do not create an unfair burden for small businesses. SBRFB, working with small business owners throughout Missouri, ensures that the voice of small business is considered when state rules and regulations are created. SBRFB works with state departments and agencies to identify rules and regulations that place an unfair burden on small business owners and recommends alternatives that benefit all parties.

Missouri Film Office
The Missouri Film Commission office was first established in 1983, a working office within the Division of Tourism, Department of Economic Development. This Commission office was created to attract film, television, video and cable productions to Missouri, and to promote the growth of the film and video production industry within Missouri.

Missouri Technology Corporation
The Missouri Technology Corporation advises the department and governor regarding business development opportunities related to new technologies and products.
