In 2000, 52.6% of all Missouri households owned a personal computer located within the residence. Missouri ranks 22nd nationally in the percentage of households owning a personal computer. States with the highest percentage of personal computer ownership are Utah (66.1%), Alaska (64.8%), New Hampshire (63.7%), Colorado (62.6%), and Oregon (61.1%). States with the lowest percentage of personal computer ownership are Mississippi (37.2%), Arkansas (37.3%), Louisiana (41.2%), Oklahoma (41.5%), and West Virginia (42.8%). States with the highest percentage of households having access to the Internet are New Hampshire (56.0%), Alaska (55.6%), Colorado (51.8%), Connecticut (51.2%), and Oregon (50.8%). States with the lowest percentage of households having access to the Internet are Mississippi (26.3%), Arkansas (26.5%), Louisiana (30.2%), South Carolina (32.0%), and West Virginia (34.3%).
